Continental GTC Speed Edition 12 (W12) WLTP drive cycle: fuel consumption, l/100km - Combined 14.1. Combined CO₂ Emissions - 320 g/km.

The Continental GTC Speed Edition 12 is a very special, limited edition version of the Continental GTC Speed. It has been created to celebrate the 20-year history of Bentley’s W12 engine, which has powered many of Bentley’s high-performance cars since it was first revealed.

It includes a host of commemorative features, from special badging on the exterior to Edition 12 Welcome Lamps and treadplates – it even has an overlay on the fascia that depicts the firing sequence of the cylinders in the engine.

The Continental GTC Speed Edition 12 is powered by a 6.0 litre W12 engine and features a suite of Bentley’s most advanced chassis technology, from adaptive all-wheel drive and all-wheel steering, to an electronic limited slip differential (eLSD).

Only 120 of these cars will ever be built, which means that as well as being stunning examples of automotive craftsmanship, they are destined to become highly collectible vehicles when production of the engine ends.

And as well as the car, every customer will receive a scale model of the W12 engine, cast from a real W12 engine block and supplied in a handcrafted presentation box.

The Continental GTC Speed 12 is part of a series that also includes the Continental GT Speed Edition 12, the Bentayga Speed Edition 12 and the Flying Spur Speed Edition 12.

The car features a number of additions that tell the story of its engine, which can be seen on the exterior and inside.

Badges on the front fenders read ‘Speed Edition 12’, while the Welcome Lamps that are mounted in the undersides of the doors cast a beam showing an Edition 12 emblem. The 22” Speed wheels feature self-levelling badges in the centre, which ensure that the Bentley ‘B’ remains upright, even when the wheels are turning. Behind them, the brake callipers are painted silver.

As you get into the cabin, you will step over Edition 12 treadplates. The fascia, clad in Grand Black veneers features a Speed Edition 12 badge and a metal overlay depicting the firing sequence of the engine’s 12 cylinders. The solid brass organ stop air vent controls, meanwhile, feature a prominent number 12.

For the upholstery, you can choose from colourways created for the Edition 12 series by Bentley’s design team. The seats feature diamond-in-diamond quilting and ombré stitching, which blends three thread colours together. To complete the picture, an embroidered Edition 12 logo is applied to each seat.

Under the bonnet, there is one more commemorative feature: a plaque that reads, ‘Edition 12’ and ‘1 of 120’, fixed to the top of the car’s engine.

The engine under the bonnet is the latest and most advanced version of Bentley’s legendary 6.0 litre, twin-turbocharged W12, generating 650 bhp (659 PS). As a result, it can achieve a top speed of 208 mph (336 km/h) and take you from 0-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds (0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds). What’s more, the roof can be raised or lowered while driving at up to 30 mph (50km/h).

There are four driving modes at your disposal. As well as Comfort, Bentley and Custom, they include the thrilling enhanced Sport mode, which adjusts engine, transmission and suspension settings to boost dynamic ability. It even gives the exhaust note a harder, more exhilarating edge.

The car features an electronic Limited Slip Differential (eLSD), which automatically optimises the amount of torque transmitted to each rear wheel, enabling you to accelerate out of corners with greater control. Bentley Dynamic Ride is a 48-volt electronic anti-roll system that controls body roll when cornering at speed, without compromising on comfort when cruising. All-wheel steering, meanwhile, reduces the car’s turning circle at low speeds, while enabling quick, confident lane changes on the highway.

The Continental GTC Speed Edition 12 comes with the same suite of advanced technology supplied with the regular Continental GTC Speed.

The car is fitted with Apple CarPlay** as standard, as well as a Wi-Fi hotspot and wireless phone charging. For the ultimate hi-fi experience, the Bentley Signature Audio system can be optionally upgraded to either the 16-channel Bang & Olufsen for Bentley system or the 20-channel Naim for Bentley – arguably the finest in-car sound system available anywhere.

The City Specification adds a range of driver assistance features including a Top View Camera, Traffic Sign Recognition*, pedestrian warnings, auto-dimming mirrors and hands-free boot opening. For the open road, the optional Touring Specification adds the Bentley Safeguard Plus warning systems, a Head-Up Display, a Night Vision Camera, Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Assist.

You can also connect to your car remotely, using the My Bentley smartphone app. It can help you find your car if you can’t remember where you parked, or let you know whether you remembered to close all the windows and lock the doors. It can even alert you if your car is moved without your consent.

You can add to the specification of the Continental GTC Speed Edition 12 with a wide range of options.

For the exterior, there are 16 standard paint finishes, but that figure rises to over 80 when you consider the colours in the extended range and the satin and pearlescent finishes available from Mulliner. The extended range includes Opalite, a new colour, exclusive to Edition 12 cars. A solid grey-green colour, it reveals stunning coppery undertones when your car catches the light. You can also choose from seven different roof finishes, including modern matt fabrics and a contemporary tweed option.

Inside, there are five hide colourways to choose from, each selected specifically by the Bentley design team to complement Edition 12 cars.
